FOR HEALTH

While the pandemic has almost entirely grabbed our attention as it pertains to healthcare, some of the major challenges facing our nation’s health remain.

Cancer remains a leading cause of death in Kenya and there is an enduring blood shortage crisis. As per last year, the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service collected only 16% of the 1 million units the country needed. This kind of blood shortage leads to many avoidable deaths, expectant mothers being particularly prone due to haemorrhage during labour.

We recently conducted a Free Medical Camp in Kiambu County, offering professional medical care, medicine, dental treatment and guidance to anyone and everyone in the local community. We’ve been delighted to support Red Cross’s blood drive campaign as they sought to collect 1 million units of blood. We donated delicious snacks that would be given to all the blood donors. Our support will remain steadfast. We also intend to support cancer patients, from disadvantaged backgrounds, seek medical help by paying for their NHIF for an entire year.
