HEROES FOR WILDLIFE!

Did you know that the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a UNESCO world heritage site? Lewa supports more than 70 different animal species and is also home to more than 400 species of birds. It also has one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya, including 12% of the country’s critically endangered black and white rhinos, and the world’s single largest population of Grevy’s zebra. The Lewa Safari Marathon is an annual event organised by Tusk in partnership with Lewa and Safaricom. The marathon is regarded to be the World’s Wildest Challenge as the participants share the reserve with several large African predators including lions, leopards, hyenas and wild dogs. After 2 years of virtual events due to the pandemic, the marathon resumed at the Lewa Conservancy and Tropical Heat is proud to have been this year’s marathon’s Official Snacks Sponsor. The marathon aims to raise funds for frontline conservation, schools and healthcare initiatives across Kenya.
